UVS Matematiker will organize the NMC camp 2026 between the 23rd and 27th of March 2026.
The purpose of this camp is to give more young, gifted mathematicians a chance to meet like-minded youths outside their respective countries, allowing for cultural exchange and the formation of many new friendships. The mathematical content will also strengthen the participants’ problem solving abilities, helping them prepare for math olympiads and future studies.
Participants
The camp is mostly aimed at NMC participants from the respective countries. For countries whose teams have not been decided, an equivalent group will be invited, e.g. national finalists. The camp can accommodate 50 participants. If more than 50 eligible candidates have applied when the application closes, we will randomly select among the applicants.
Location
The camp will be held in Lund, Sweden. Lectures and activities will be held at Lund’s university and lodging will be provided at a hotel, with a roughly 20 minute walk between the two. For participants from Finland, Iceland, and Norway, we suggest travelling via Copenhagen.
Content
The camp will be held in English. The first day will mostly be reserved to checking in and getting to know each other. The three following days will be filled with lectures on problem solving, a practice contest, and social activities. During the last day, participants will take part in the Nordic Mathematical Contest, NMC, either officially or as a guest participant, and get a chance to discuss the contest afterwards. A more detailed schedule will be made available closer to the camp.
Price
The camp is completely free to attend, as we will cover all costs occurred during the camp, including food and lodging. Participants will arrange their own travels, and we will reimburse 60% of travel costs above 100 euros. (So make sure to keep receipts for your travel expenses!)
